3 ways to get more business from your website / 3 cara untuk mendapatkan lebih banyak bisnis dari situs web Anda

You already know, as a web developer, the first
thing you need is a portfolio website.

It should represent you, but it should also be
designed to convert your visitors to clients.

Here are a few tips for making your website
convert better, get you more jobs, and bring in
more money:

1) Make Sure Your Portfolio Site Passes the
5-Second Test

Basically, you want to grab your visitors'
attention within the first 5 seconds or you'll
lose them for good. The average visitor will
quickly glance at your site and if nothing catches
their attention, they will bounce out.

Have 10 people go to your website, spend just 5-7
seconds reading, and then answer this question:

Was there anything on the website that grabbed
your attention and made you want to find out more?

If your site fails this test, our new Strategies
for Web Development Success course can give you
everything you need to create a killer portfolio
site that lands you clients left and right.

2) Use an Attention Grabbing Headline

Your headline should be the first thing they see,
it should grab their attention, and force them to
keep reading. 80% of your visitors will read your
headline, it's very important.

A good headline is specific to only you or your
company. If it could work on someone else's site-
it's not specific enough.

3) Make Your Visitors Take Action

Once you have visitors, you want them to get a
quote, contact you for more information, or leave
their name and email address.

The best way to get their information is to offer
something in return. A downloadable document
through email tends to work best.

Here are a few ideas:

- a report you wrote about how to avoid web
developer scam artists

- an article you wrote about why everyone needs a
website

- a case study of a website you developed and how
much the business' income increased

Your offer should be something they just have to
have. This will help you build credibility as an
expert in your field, build trust, and increase
your chances of doing business with them in the
future. Don't ruin the experience by turning the
offer into a sales pitch.

Once you have their contact information you can
follow up with them, build rapport, and eventually
make a sale.
